Pastor's Blog - January 7, 2025
Happy New Year, FBC family! I’m so excited about the opportunities that await us as a church this year – to grow in Christ, to know Him and make Him known.
Toward that end, we have begun a new series, walking through the Gospel of John. It is called Believe, named after John’s purpose statement of why he wrote: “These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).
It will be a blessing to walk through one of the four gospels, verse-by-verse, just looking into the face of Jesus each Sunday.
This Lord’s Day, we will be looking at John 2:12-25, as we talk about “True Worship.”
Sunday night we will have another special evening of prayer and praise to kick off the New Year. With 2025 stretching out before us, this is an
opportune time to engage in a time of corporate prayer and praise for this new year. I hope you’ll join us for that.
As you get deeper into this year, don’t allow the enemy to steal your joy or discourage you. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Stay in His Word, stay close to Him in prayer, and stay close to brothers and sisters in Christ. I’ll see you on Sunday!
By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr.
