This week we will look at Daniel 9:20-27 as we think about the subject, “Israel In The News…And In The Scriptures.” As I write these words, Israel has just experienced some of the greatest victories since the Six Day War, in 1967. Once again, despite the brutality and scheming of her enemies, Israel has won an incredible victory.

Did you ever wonder how Israel manages to do this, time after time? It is because God has not abandoned His promises. He promised that the Jewish people would one day return to their land, and they have. But more than that, He promises that one day they will return to Him. It will involve a painful process, but it will happen.

That is what Daniel 9:20-27 is all about. But this text is not simply about Israel…it is about you and me. God is a promise-keeping God. He treasures His children. He delights in answering our prayers. All of these things we also see in this text. I hope you’ll join me on Sunday as we unpack it together!
