By the time you receive this, I hope you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  This is such a special time of the year, as we celebrate God’s blessings and give thanks, and turn our attention to Advent and the birth of our Savior.

This year, Advent follows very closely on the heels of Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is on Thursday, and the first Sunday of Advent is three days later! 

What that means is that this Sunday, November 30^th, is the first Sunday of Advent, when we focus on the hope that Jesus brings.  It will also be the first Sunday of a new Advent series from God’s Word.  This year, in these four Sundays leading to Christmas, we will engage in a series called Number The Stars.  It will be a study of Genesis 12-15. 

This will follow very naturally from our Fall study of Genesis 1-11.  We will see in chapters 12-15 how Abraham’s story sets the stage for our Lord Jesus. 

This Sunday, the series will begin as we look at Genesis 12:1-3, which is about the expanding “Horizons Of Hope” God brings to us. 

I can’t wait to bring this series to you!  I believe God will use it to enrich our knowledge of His Word and expand the horizons of our faith.
