Pastor Post - December 9, 2020

What a wonderful celebration of Christmas this past week, as we kicked off our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering with an “ingathering.”  So far, after just one week, we have taken in $22,183.  Every penny of this will be used to send and support missionaries, as they make disciples and plant churches by sharing the gospel and sharing mercy and compassion with people around the world.

This is what makes giving to the International Mission Board so strategic.  At one time, you are supporting mercy ministry toward needy people…you are supporting evangelism…you are supporting discipleship…and you are supporting the planting of churches, so that all of the above will be sustained by healthy gospel-centered congregations around the world.

We’ll continue to take up this offering in the coming weeks as we continue to press toward our church goal of $65,000.  You can place your offering in one of the boxes located at the front and back of the sanctuary, bring in your gift, mail it in, or give electronically. However you do it, give…because Christ gave.

It was also fantastic to be a part of Christmas praise in our Scripture and Songs service.  To let those classic carols of adoration flow forth is so healthy and right.  I am so thankful to Luke and our musicians for leading us so well.

Also on Sunday, we began a new series, Faces Around The Manger.  We began by looking at the shepherds.  This Sunday we will look at “Joseph:  The Unsung Hero Of Christmas.”  Our text will be Matthew 1:18-25.

Also, what a wonderful blessing to welcome Anna Seebo into our congregation by baptism.  Pray for Anna, as she follows Jesus as a new disciple.  Also, what a joy to welcome George and Marsha Duncan to our church family.

In spite of all the challenges of COVID-19, the gospel of Jesus Christ cannot be stopped.  God is building His church, and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it.  I’m thankful to be a part of it with you!  See you on Sunday, in-person or online.

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
