This Sunday, as we continue in our study of the life of Joseph, God Meant It For Good, we will look at Genesis 42-43 and think together about “The Beauty Of Reconciliation.”
In chapters 42 and 43, Joseph and his brothers see each other for the first time in many, many years. But we know that a family reunion is not the same thing as a family reconciliation. Joseph wants more than to be in the same room with his brothers. He wants to be used as an agent of God to bring his family together in every sense of the word.
These chapters are a beautiful word of hope about peace and reconciliation, with God and one another. Let me encourage you to read chapters 42 and 43 prior to Sunday morning. There is a lot of ground to cover, and it will help you if you’ve read the text in advance. I would encourage you to make a habit of doing that every week. It will help you in praying for the upcoming service, and enrich your experience on Sunday.
These are busy days as we enter our Fall at FBC. AWANA and our Wednesday night study, Rediscover Church, both begin on September 7th. Bible Study Fellowship, for women, begins on September 13th. Sunday School for children and students will be promoting, Sunday School is foundational. It is a great place for every age to study God’s Word and build friendships, while we are all together at one time on Sunday mornings. Also, if you would like to be a part of a single-gender discipleship group that meets during the week, let us know.
There are lots of opportunities to serve and grow at FBC. Pray, show up, roll up your sleeves, and let’s worship together, learn together, and serve together to make an eternal impact on our community and the world!
I’ll see you on Sunday…
By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr.
