Pastor Post - August 16, 2022

This Sunday, as we continue our series on Joseph, we will be in Genesis 40, talking about “When Waiting Is Hard.”

For a while, it seemed like Joseph’s life was on hold.  Sometimes our lives feel like that.  Those times can be discouraging…yet God’s timing is perfect.

Read over Genesis 40, come prayed up, and let’s dig into it on Sunday.  If you have missed these first couple of messages in this series, let me encourage you to catch up by watching or listening at our podcast, church app, or website.

It was bittersweet to say good-bye to Chuck and Helen Thompson on Sunday.  By the time you get this newsletter, they will be at their new home, near Winston-Salem, NC.  Much of their family is in that area, and this move will enable them to be closer, but we will miss them.

I am so thankful for Pastor Thompson, whose influence in my life has been incalculable.  He brought me on as his intern during my seminary years and taught me so much.  He unselfishly let me fill the pulpit, do funerals and weddings and so much more with him.  He helped get Melissa and I ready for marriage and officiated at our wedding.  And Helen has always been a sweet presence in our lives and the lives of our children.  He pastored FBC for 15 years, and we are grateful.

You can contact the Church Office if you would like the Thompsons' new address to reach out.  Keep them in your prayers.

Who can you reach out to this week, and invite to meet you on Sunday?  I’ll see you then…with a Bible in my hand.

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
