This Sunday is one of the most special days on the calendar for our church family – the LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING INGATHERING. 

Every penny of this offering goes to the international fields, to send and sustain missionaries who are seeking to reach the unreached with the Good News of Jesus. It is the biggest special offering we have throughout the year at FBC. Why? Because the need is greatest overseas, where literally billions have yet to hear of Jesus. And, as Romans 10:15 reminds us, “How can they go unless they are sent?” 

Through this offering, we get to “hold the ropes” for our missionaries. Most of IMB’s budget comes through this offering. How many missionaries Southern Baptists are able to send from year to year is determined by what comes in for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. 

Our national goal as Southern Baptists is $160 million. Our FBC goal is $65,000. I want to encourage you to make this your biggest gift of the season…because you are giving to the biggest need. 

This Sunday we will also continue in our Advent series from the book of Ruth, and we’ll celebrate baptism. It’s going to be a wonderful day. Hope you’ll be a part of it!
