Pastor Post - December 7, 2023
What a fantastic Lord’s Day this past Sunday – our sanctuary is absolutely beautiful, and we began Advent with a new series called Home For Christmas. We are looking at different Psalms that show us what it means to come home to God. I’m so excited about this series!
And what a wonderful blessing it was on Sunday night to join our voices together in song and Scripture…this was such a sweet way to kick off the first Sunday of Advent. I’m so thankful for our worship team leading us in this…what a beautiful time of worship!
This Sunday, we’ll look at Psalm 84, which is all about “Longing for Home.” We know this fallen world is not our real home. That is why we are never completely comfortable here…God has prepared another place for us. We’ll talk about it on Sunday.
Also, this Sunday will be our Ingathering for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. You can give to this offering any Sunday or online, but this Sunday we will ask you to come forward at the end of the service to pray for our missionaries and the people they are
sharing the gospel with. Our Lottie Moon boxes will be at the front, and many of you will choose to give at that time. But even if you are giving at another time, please come up and pray and commit yourself to the Great Commission Jesus has given to us…to spread the gospel to all nations!
It will be a special Sunday. I’ll see you then, with a Bible in my hand…
By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr.
