Pastor Post - February 1, 2017

Sunday was an exciting day, as we focused in both Sunday School and Worship on personal evangelism. Witnessing is something all of us are called to do. You don’t have to be an extrovert or great speaker to speak to your friends about Jesus.

Basically you just need love. The best witnessing flows out of an attempt to simply love people. Part of loving people is sharing the best news in the world with them, especially when it’s news that can transform their life and eternity!

Can we pray for people to be saved? Of course! Can we love on them and tell them about Christ and invite them to know Him and invite them to our church? Sure we can!

So we passed out a little card with three blanks on it. Hopefully your three blanks are filled in with the names of three people you are going to be praying for and seeking to share Christ with in 2017. Think what God can do! It may take time. With most people it does. But keep praying faithfully for them, keep loving them by spending time with them, and speak words of life to them as you have opportunity.

A great tool to help us gain confidence in sharing the gospel is the Life Conversation Guide, or “3 circles.” If you have a smart phone, download the free app to help you learn how to share the gospel better. There is also a video on the app to help you. Then practice, practice, practice until you feel comfortable with the presentation. Say to it to yourself. Pair off with your spouse or children or a friend and practice. Actually, once you learn it, it is even easier to use in an actual conversation.

This Sunday we will be back in The Gospel of Mark. We’ll look at Mark 11:1-11, as we talk about “Welcoming the King.” As always, read and pray over the text before Sunday, and come with a heart ready to worship!

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
