Pastor Post - February 21, 2018
I am so grateful for our guest filling in for me last week, and for the opportunity he had to fill you in on his upcoming trip, so that you can be praying. What an amazing opportunity we have to partner with this dear brother!
We were able to make a college visit with Courtney, and spend a few days together as a family. But it is good to be home, and this week we will continue in our study of Romans by digging into Romans 2:12-29. The theme is, “Spirit-Empowered Obedience.”
As you peruse the text for Sunday, ponder these things:
The church at Rome had believers from a Jewish background and believers from a Gentile background. Do you see how Paul is addressing both groups?
Refresh yourself on verses 1-11 of chapter 2. How do they feed directly into the theme of verses 12-29?
What does Paul mean when he talks about a “circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit?”
I am really looking forward to getting back into our Romans study with you this Sunday. Come prayed up, and invite a friend to meet you.
By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr.
