Pastor Post - February 8, 2023

This Sunday as we continue in our series, Tell Me The Story Of Jesus, we will look at one of the most famous parables, in Luke 10:25-37, and ask, “How’s Your Love Life?”

There is a great danger when we look at parables like the one that is called “The Good Samaritan.”  The danger is that we can subtly assume that we know what there is to know about this story.

That is never the case with God’s Word.  Because God is infinite, His Word is inexhaustible.  It is like a gold mine where, as we keep digging, we keep finding new nuggets of treasure.

We will find that to be the case with this passage.  This week, as I have studied it afresh and anew, I have seen many treasures I had never seen before, and I can’t wait to share them with you on Sunday.

This is a weekend when people are thinking about “love.”  But our culture’s definition of that is quite different from the one we see in this parable, which has God’s love at its center.  We are called to be people who display God’s love and compassion.  How’s your love life?  Let’s talk about it on Sunday.

By the way, one way you can love an unchurched friend would be to give them a call this week and invite them to meet you at church on Sunday, where they could learn more about God’s love.  Just before writing these words, I got a text from a member who told me he was bringing friends on Sunday.  Who’s your one?  Reach out in love.
