I pray that your New Year is off to a great start, and that 2024 will be a year of God doing a new thing…a very special thing…in your life!

We had a wonderful Christmas season at FBC, especially in regard to our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.  You gave over $72,000 to reach the last, the least, and the lost around the world.  To God be the glory.

As we look toward the winter and spring, it was great to beginwalking through 2 Timothy this past Sunday.  In the Fall we walked through 1 Timothy.  Our series was Fight the Good Fight.  Now we will walk through Paul’s second letter to Timothy, and we are calling this series Finish The Race.  

For many years, 2 Timothy has been one of my favorite books of the Bible, yet this is the first time I have preached through it, and I am very excited to do so.  It is heart-to-heart communication from the great Apostle to Timothy’s heart and to ours.  It is so warm…so personal…so passionate.  Paul knows he is coming to the end of his life, and the things he says to us here are precious words of encouragement as we run the race God has marked out for us. 

This Sunday, we will look at 2 Timothy 1:8-12 and talk about “Relying on God.”  I’ll see you on Sunday.  

Who’s Your One in 2024?  Whose salvation are you praying for this year?  Who are you reaching out to?  Part of doing that is inviting them to join you in worship.  Perhaps the Spirit is working in their lives to do a new thing this year.  Your invitation to church would go right along with that.
