Pastor Post - January 11, 2023

This Sunday we begin a new series, a journey through key texts in the gospel of Luke.  We are calling this series, Tell Me The Story Of Jesus.

Is that not the story that our broken world needs to hear?  Is that not what we ourselves need, as followers of Christ?  Let us behold our Savior in this series, that we may love him more, and be filled with his love for others more.

Part of loving others is sharing the good news of Jesus with them and inviting them to be part of his church.  As we embark upon a new year, who’s your one?  What unchurched person are you praying for, sharing the gospel with, and inviting to join you at church?

It has been wonderful to see so many people coming into our church family recently, many by baptism.  This is evidence of life, of the Holy Spirit’s presence among us.  To God be the glory.  Yet there are so many lost people around us, even in our own families and friend groups.  We live in a sea of lost people.  We live in a mission field.  Are you on mission each day?

Perhaps more than any other gospel, Luke shows us God’s missionary heart.  As Jesus says in 19:10, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

Let us join our Savior in seeking the lost, that he may save them.  Let us love him with all our hearts in this new year, and let his Spirit fill us with love for people!

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
