Pastor Post - January 25, 2017

I pray that your 2017 is off to a great start! As we’ve been talking about on Sunday mornings, this is a natural time of year to reset priorities. So far in our “Reset” series, we talked about…

• “Cherishing The Lord’s Day”– Hebrews 10:19-25

• “Stewarding The Lord’s Gospel” – 2 Cor. 9:1-15

Meeting together for worship and stewarding the time, talents, and treasure God has given us are foundational areas for Christian living. Because the enemy knows this, he is constantly trying to distract us and hinder us in these areas. Don’t let him play games with you! Commit to consistent and faithful attendance at Sunday School and worship, and consistent and faithful giving of tithes and offerings to the Lord. If you’ll faithfully “Cherish the Lord’s Day” and “Steward The Lord’s Resources,” He will bless and reward your faithfulness.

This Sunday we conclude our Reset series with the final message:

“Sharing The Lord’s Gospel” – 1 Corinthians 9:19-27

Telling others about Jesus is something we know God has called us to do, but many of us struggle with it. Sometimes we fear rejection or giving offense. Sometimes we get wrapped up in ourselves. Sometimes we feel like we don’t have the right words to say.

We want to help you with all those things this Sunday. This is going to be a special Sunday, where we focus on evangelism.

First, during Sunday School we will gather in four groups, in different parts of our campus. If you don’t already know where your class is meeting, someone will be here to direct you on Sunday morning. We are going to use our Sunday School time to get some practical training on how to share the Good News of Jesus with others. We’ll look at…

• The call of Christ to share the gospel

• Overcoming barriers to sharing

• An easy way to share

Then, during the Worship Service, we will study 1 Corinthians 9, and talk about “Sharing the Lord’s Gospel.” At the end of our service, each of us will get a little card on which we’ll write the names of 3 people. We’ll commit to doing two things for these people in 2017:

• Praying for their salvation

• Sharing the gospel with them

Can you imagine what God could do in the lives of people, if we are praying for them and sharing the gospel with them? So be thinking of three people you know who need the Lord and a church family. Pray for them. Share with them. See what God can do!

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
