Pastor Post - July 10, 2019

Dear FBC Family,

Pray for me over the next couple of weeks, as I will be representing you and our International Mission Board overseas. This is a unique opportunity to love on hundreds of our missionaries at once, as well as visit several different teams on site, where they live and serve.

I know this is your heart as a church. I don’t know any church that loves our missionaries any more than this one. Furthermore, our church puts its money where its mouth is when it comes to the IMB. You all give so generously to the advance of the gospel around the world! Therefore, for your pastor to serve as an IMB trustee and be directly involved in the work is a blessing. The International Mission Board is the “point of the spear” when it comes to Southern Baptists. I am grateful to pastor a church that “gets it” when it comes to international missions.

I’ll be able to say much more about my trip, as well as give you a report from the field, when I return. The IMB likes us to be careful about what we say in print or while being recorded, which is why I kept details to a minimum during the service this past Sunday. Please be praying for me as I travel.

Over the next two Sundays you will get to hear from two of your favorite guest preachers, Nashaat and Lindsay Poteat. They will do a fantastic job at filling the pulpit. It is good and healthy for the church to hear other voices at times, and good and healthy for your pastor to go to the international mission field at times. Pray for me, as I will be praying for you.

I love you, dear church family.
