I’m looking forward to being back with you this Sunday, as we look at another classic Psalm, Psalm 51.  I’ve entitled this message “Coming Home,” because David is returning to the Lord after a time of sin in his life. 

Psalm 51 is a heartfelt cry of repentance.  It reveals the depth of our sin, and the depth of God’s mercy.  

For as long as we live in this fallen world, we will struggle with sin.  They might not be the same sins David had committed that led him to write Psalm 51, but the principles are the same:  We will sin, and we will need to come before God in honest, humble confession.  This Psalm gives us a powerful model for doing that.
