By the time you receive this, we will be back from the Southern Baptist Convention, in Dallas. I look forward to sharing a report with you soon about our denominational meeting, but I am even more looking forward to being back in Romans with you this Sunday. 

This works out perfectly: It will be Father’s Day, and we will be looking at Romans 8:12-17, which is all about the fact that we have been adopted as God’s children and can know him as our “Abba,” our Father. My message will be entitled, “Adopted By The Father.” This is such a beautiful and powerful passage. Why not call a dad in your life whose family needs a church home, and invite them to attend with you this Sunday? 

I will also be making a major announcement about our Student Pastor search…and it will be major good news! Thanks to your prayers, God has provided in a wonderful way. 

On June 24^th, you will get to meet a precious couple. I believe – and our Personnel Committee believes – that this is God’s man to come to FBC as our next Student Pastor. We love them, and we believe you will love them, too. You will have an opportunity to affirm him in a special called meeting on June 27^th. Even better, he would be able to begin ministry with us on July 1^st. This would enable them to “hit the ground running,” go to MissionFuge with our students, building relationships and pouring into their lives for the bulk of the summer – which is such an important time for our Student Ministry. I’ll say much more about it this Sunday – Father’s Day. God is doing some amazing things, and I can’t wait to tell you. See you then!
