Pastor Post - June 14, 2023

This Sunday and next, we will finish up our series on Luke, which we called Tell Me The Story Of Jesus.

How can we finish up a series called “Tell Me The Story Of Jesus” without finishing with the cross and resurrection of Jesus?  We can’t.  This is the heart of the gospel.  As the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

We cannot tell the good news, the story of Jesus, without talking about his death for our sins and his resurrection from the dead!  (By the way, when you share your faith with others, always, always, ALWAYS tell them that Christ died for sinners and rose from the dead.  If you do not tell them these two things, you have not shared the good news of the gospel.)

So this Sunday we will focus on the cross.  In this series, we have looked at passages that are unique to Luke.  And in Luke’s account of the cross, there are multiple unique things, including the conversion of one of the thieves who was crucified beside our Lord.  So we will dive into Luke 23:26-43 this Sunday.  The message is “Amazing Love, How Can It Be?”

Be praying for this Sunday’s worship, as we look at the staggering, matchless love of Jesus, displayed on the cross, and as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.  Can’t wait to see you there!
