Pastor Post - March 22, 2023

This week, as we continue in our series, Tell Me The Story Of Jesus, we will look at Luke 14:1-14 and talk about “Pride and Humility.”

Pride is one of the toughest things we battle as believers, because it is so deeply ingrained in our sinful nature.  No one has to teach us to be sinfully prideful!

But Jesus calls us to humility, which frees us to live fully and joyfully and for God’s glory.  We’ll talk about these things on Sunday.  As always, read over the text in preparation, and pray for your heart to be ready to worship.

One person who demonstrated the humility the Spirit gives was Lois Garratt, who went home to be with Jesus earlier this week.  Lois exuded the fruit of the Spirit in and through her life.  We will miss her sweet smile, her love, and her humble heart of service, to the Lord and his church.  Her homegoing service will be in our sanctuary this Saturday at 11am.

But even as we say a temporary good-bye to senior saints who are going to be with Jesus, we are welcoming a new generation of believers at FBC.  We rejoice with Mallory Remy, who was baptized on Sunday, and we look forward this Sunday to more baptisms, more signs that God is at work in his church.  I’m thankful you’re a part of it.  Let’s keep pressing onward and upward for his glory!

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
