Pastor Post - March 29, 2027

What an awesome blessing this past weekend was, as our students participated in Operation Suffolk! This past weekend, these students studied God’s Word in small groups, got together for worship as a large group, and went out into our community doing ministry. In fact, they passed out around a thousand invitations to our Easter service! As a pastor and a dad, I am so thankful for all that God is doing in and through our students at FBC. We are so blessed to have Michael and a wonderful team of adult volunteers in our student ministry. Wasn’t it great to see so many teenagers down front last Sunday, and to take part in the Lord’s Supper together?

This Sunday morning Lindsay Poteat will be bringing the message from Mark 14:32-72. This passage follows Jesus through the Garden of Gethsemane, his arrest, mock trial, and Peter’s denial. Having visited the sights where these events occurred many, many times, Lindsay will bring out all kinds of insights that will fuel your love for Jesus. Temple Baptist Church in Newport News, where I once served as Senior Pastor, has invited me to preach at their 75th Anniversary service. It will be an honor to do that this Sunday morning. Please pray for me as I preach, and for the Temple congregation as they celebrate their history and look forward to their future. I will be back at FBC on Sunday night, and will do an Introduction to Acts. Why an introduction to Acts? Because Acts will be our next series, coming up after Easter! After studying a gospel, and finishing that series on Easter, it will be appropriate to see how the work of Jesus continued in the early church, and how it continues today through our church. We’ll begin that series in early May and finish in the Fall. I hope to see you on Sunday night as I share an overview of this amazing book!

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
