Pastor Post - March 7, 2018

This week, in Romans 3:21-31, we will plunge into the heart of the gospel. Last week, in 3:1-20, we saw “Our Great Need For Christ.” This week we will see “The Great Christ We Need.”

In fact, the paragraph we will study on Sunday has been called the most important paragraph ever written, because it unpacks the riches of God’s saving action in Christ, and how we can receive it.

People have always sought salvation through the means of human achievement. That is our sinful pride at work. But God tells us that salvation comes not through human achievement, but through divine accomplishment.

As you ponder this Sunday’s text, can you see that? How? Marinate in this text this week and ask the Spirit to open your eyes to the riches of the gospel. Reach out to a friend and invite them to meet you at FBC, and have lunch afterwards. What a wonderful opportunity to ask them, “So what did you think about what was said in the sermon?” That opens the door wide for a gospel conversation.

See you on Sunday!
