Pastor Post - May 10, 2017

Before moving to what is happening this Sunday, I can’t help but comment on the amazing job our children’s choirs did last Sunday night in their presentation of “A Not So Terrible Parable.” They were tremendous, the message they were communicating was loaded with gospel truth, and our children’s choir workers had obviously done a fantastic job in preparing them!

It was a blessing to be back in the FBC pulpit, and to begin a new series. We’re going to enjoy Acts as we walk through it together in “Empowered: A Study of Acts.”

Last week, in chapter one, we saw the promise of the Spirit. This week, in chapter two, we’ll see the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. Our title and text will be:

“The Pouring Out of the Holy Spirit”

Acts 2:1-21

Sunday is also a very special one, in that it is Mother’s Day. We’ll get a chance to honor and pray for moms. They make an eternal difference!

It was great to see so many new faces in our congregation Sunday. Keep inviting your friends and praying for them. And be faithful to pray for our services, that God will move, and that we will be hungry for the Word in the power of the Spirit. See you on Mother’s Day.

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,

Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr.
