Pastor Post - May 11, 2022

This Sunday we will look at Philippians 2:19-3:9, as we talk about “Precious Gifts From God.”  It is such a blessing to walk through the letter to the Philippians with you…it pulsates with joy!

Be praying for the service and read through the text in advance, asking the Spirit to open your eyes to see the beautiful things in God’s Word.

And be praying for our country.  It is disconcerting to see protesters outside the residences of Supreme Court justices, and even more disconcerting to know that people are demanding the “right” to kill babies in the womb.  Of course, our Constitution gives no such right.  The Roe vs. Wade decision on abortion was an unjust, disastrous decision that was concocted out of thin air, and we should be praying that it will indeed be overturned.  The Bible is crystal clear – life begins at conception.  God knit us together in the womb of our mothers (Psalm 139:13).  Let us be people who stand for the sanctity of human life.  And let us also be people who come alongside women who are facing a crisis pregnancy.  Our church is doing this, through our support of the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater, and through our Great Expectations class.  Each week, women who have chosen life meet on our church campus to receive support and encouragement and practical help.  And each week, a ministry team from our church is coming alongside these expectant moms with the love of Christ.

From the earliest days of Christianity, Christians have led the way in standing for the sanctity of human life.  Let us always do so!

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
