Pastor Post - May 16, 2018

What a blessing this past Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day and preach from Romans 8:1!

By the time you read this, I will be in Thailand with Courtney, one of our precious daughters. Together, we will be working with two of FBC’s own “sent out” workers. For a long time, I have been eager to see and take part in their ministry in Bangkok. We have sent several teams from FBC to work with them, and continue to support them through mission teams and in other ways. This is an opportunity for Courtney and I to represent you and be an encouragement to this precious couple in their work among the many people groups in this mega city. While there, as a Trustee, I will also be meeting with lots of other gospel workers who are supported by our church. Pray that Courtney and I will be lights of refreshment to these servants of the gospel, have the opportunity to encourage persecuted believers, and have the opportunity to share the gospel with those who do not yet know the Savior.

I will be back in the pulpit next Sunday, but this Sunday you will get to hear from Pastor Mark Turner. Mark and his wife, Whitney, are preparing to move to Philadelphia to plant a new work called Redemption Heights Church. Mark currently serves as Student Pastor at Nansemond River Baptist Church, but will be moving to Philly in just a few weeks. He is an excellent preacher, and this Sunday he will be preaching the Word and sharing the vision for the new church in Philly. This work will be an SBC church plant, which is supported by your giving. We will also have the opportunity to send teams to help them as they get going. You’ll enjoy hearing from Mark this Sunday!

Please keep Courtney and I in your prayers as we serve in Asia.

Coastal Virginia…Bangkok…Philadelphia…IMB workers from every continent….FBC is touching the world with the gospel!
