Pastor Post - November 2, 2022

This Sunday, as we continue in our series, David: After God’s Own Heart, we will look at the end of 1 Samuel and parts of the first few chapters of 2 Samuel, as we talk about “Glorifying The Forever King,” from 1 Samuel 31-2 Samuel 7.

We will see the tragic ending to the lives of Saul and Jonathan, and the beginning of David’s reign as King.  Most of all, we will look at the Davidic Covenant, in 2 Samuel 7.  Our God is a promise-keeping God.  He is faithful.  Not just to David, but to you and me.

The greatest of God’s promises was the promise to redeem a people through His Son.  We will see that in the Davidic covenant.  Read over these chapters, especially 2 Samuel 7.  God is telling David about the son who would come from his body, Solomon.  But do you see how the promises of 2 Samuel 7 can only be fulfilled through a King greater than Solomon, or David?

Jesus is our forever King, and we exist to bring Him glory!  Let’s talk about it on Sunday.

What a blessing to experience Pastor Appreciation at FBC!  Thanks for your many expressions of love throughout the month.  What a loving church family God has given us!

And what a fantastic night we had last Friday, at Trunk or Treat. Altogether we approached a thousand people at this event.  Thank you for coming together to show love and share the gospel with our community!  Be praying for each person who came, that God will work in their lives, draw them to His Son, and into the family of God.

Speaking of which, it is wonderful to welcome new people into the FBC family.  We’ve seen that a lot recently.  Who’s your one?  Who is God laying on your heart that needs Christ and a church home?  Why not pick up that phone right now and reach out to them, and invite them to meet you at FBC this Sunday?

I’ll see you then…
