Pastor Post - November 27, 2019

This Sunday we will welcome Dr. Paul Chitwood to FBC Suffolk.  Paul serves as President of the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The IMB is really what brings us together as Southern Baptists.  It is the “point of the spear” in SBC life, and the largest international missions agency on the planet, by far.  As IMB President, Paul has perhaps the most strategic and challenging job in the Christian world today.  Let’s pray faithfully for him and welcome him warmly as he comes this Sunday morning.  He will be preaching from Isaiah 56:1-8.  His message will be “For the Nations.”

This Sunday night our worship team and friends will be leading us in Jesus the King.  It will be a special night of Christmas music and worship that you will not want to miss.

It’s going to be a HUGE day at FBC!  Come prayed up, with thanksgiving in your heart.

May you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and may the Spirit fill you as you turn your attention to Advent. Beginning December 8, we will begin a three-week Advent study of John 1:1-18.  The series is called A Light in the Darkness.

Also on December 8, we will have our Ingathering for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.  Our goal is $65,000 to help push back the darkness and shine the light of Christ.  God knows how much each of us has…will you give as he has blessed you?

I’ll see you this Sunday, sweet church family.
