Pastor Post - October 6, 2021

This Sunday we will begin a six-week journey through the exciting book of Esther.  Do you love a good story, with lots of twists and turns, and a dramatic reversal?  Don’t we all!  Esther is just such a story.  Except this story is true.

Like Esther, we are living far from home.  Like Esther, we are strangers and exiles in this fallen, sinful world.  Also, like Esther, we have a God who is faithful to His promises…a God who always comes through…a God who is always at work on behalf of His people, even when we can’t see it.  And, like Esther, God has put us here for such a time as this.

What we will see in this series is that God is always at work in our lives, for His glory and our good.  He is the unseen Director of history.  He is arranging circumstances and making things happen, to fulfill His ultimate purposes.  Most of all, the great deliverance of His people in Esther points to the Deliverer to come…Jesus.  Like every book of the Bible, Esther points to Christ.  May we see and savor Jesus through this series!

I am thankful to Pastor David for bringing the message this past Sunday, and what an absolute joy to welcome Cathy Cox to our FBC family.  She will be baptized soon.  Welcome, Cathy!!

I’ll see you this Sunday, as we look at Esther 1:1-2:7, and talk about how to live as “Strangers In A Strange Land.”
