Pastor Post - September 19, 2018

Thank you so much for your prayers on my behalf as I preached in Revival this past Sunday at Hillcrest Baptist Church. It was great to be an encouragement to one of our neighboring churches – we are all about the Kingdom at First Suffolk, not just building up ourselves! That is reflected in the fact that our church has started several other churches in our community.

I am super grateful for Miguel’s excellent preaching on Sunday morning. What a blessing it is to have young men who are called to ministry, like Miguel, as a part of our church. First Suffolk has been a church that has raised up so many pastors and missionaries. Miguel and Leslee are a tremendous young team for Christ, and they are going to be a blessing to our church and the Kingdom, in many ways. Pray for them as they prepare to have their first child soon.

It is also wonderful to have excellent Bible Study teachers like Corby who can step in and fill the pulpit. I’m so thankful for the great job he did on Sunday night.

This Sunday morning we will be back in Romans, as we dig into Romans 12:3-8 and talk about “Transformed Thinking.”

Last time, in Romans 12:2, we saw that we are to be “transformed by the renewal of our minds.” But how do renewed minds think? About ourselves? About the church? About spiritual gifts? We will see answers to all those things in Romans 12:3-8 this Sunday morning.

This Sunday night I will begin a new evening series from Colossians. The four chapters of Colossians feature some of the New Testament’s deepest looks into the Person and work of Christ, and his supremacy over all things. I think it will be an excellent Fall study for us as we lead up to Christmas.

I hope to see you this Sunday morning and evening as we worship together!

By His Grace, For His Glory, To The Nations,
