Pastor Post - September 6, 2017

This week we will finish the study of Acts that we began several months ago. We have seen the birth of the church, and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. We have seen Paul transformed from a persecutor of the church to a planter of churches. We have seen the unstoppable progress of the gospel. We have seen the journeys of the Apostle Paul, and we have been on quite a journey ourselves as we walked through Acts together.

This has been a season of growth in our church, as we are seeing men and women, boys and girls, coming to follow Jesus and being baptized as believers. Many of you have shared with me that it has been a season of spiritual growth in your own lives. I know that God has touched my own life very deeply during the course of this series. His empowering presence, the Holy Spirit, has been poured out.

This Sunday we will study Acts 28. The message will be, “To Rome and Beyond.”

As you read over Acts 28, reflect on…

  • God’s faithfulness in bringing Paul to bear witness in the capital of the Roman Empire, the city of Rome itself. Through it all – all the persecution, all the obstacles, all the trials – the promise that God made in Acts 23:11 came to pass. How can that encourage you?
  • Reflect on the way that Acts ends. It is as if Luke says, “To Be Continued…” That’s because the story hasn’t ended. God is continuing his work through you and me!

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
